Computer Repair Jacksonville FL

Computer Repair Jacksonville FL In a sea of competition it can sometimes be difficult to make a decision concerning who totrust with your technology. You have your privacy to consider for example, not to mention the money you put into the repair itself. How can you be sure your computer repair is legitimate? Let me provide you with a few thoughts to consider that should put your mind at ease and provide you with confidence in the ability of PC Faction to repair your computer(s). Two Decades of Solid Computer Repair Experience I have been repairing computers for the last 20 years. In fact, I was training computer repair technicians as early as 2000. What began as a hobby in the late 90’s became a full-time career when my technical ability was discovered by an employer. I transitioned from an Assistant Accounts Manager to a Regional Computer Trainer within three months of employment. I have since trained dozens of successful computer repair technicians, spear-headed the setup of several large Army Combat Hospital networks, worked as a government contractor on several large, military network projects, and successfully built a computer repair company from the ground up (to name but a few of my technical accomplishments). Over 10 Years of Formal Computer Repair Training I have honestly been through more computer repair training than I could ever possibly remember. I took my first computer repair class in 1995 and worked with several Marine Corps technicians side-by-side before finishing my tour in 1997. Following my honorable discharge I engaged in a self-study program which led to landing the Computer Repair Trainer position. During that time I began taking classes religiously at New Horizons Computer Learning Center. After receiving certification in CompTIA Security+, Network+, A+, Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician, and Microsoft Certified Professional, I joined the Army Reserves. The Army sent me to a technology school where I was specifically trained in computer repair and networking. Once I graduated from that school I was soon being shipped to schools all over the country to learn various aspects of technology, computer repair, networking, and proprietary DoD programs. Working with sensitive government information, a government Secret Clearance and specialized training in Information Assurance was mandatory. As a government contractor many of the facilities I worked at even required an armed escort and strict limitations to outside communication. I was trusted with highly classified information on a daily basis. Trust me… your privacy is safe with me. Before my tour ended in the Army Reserves I finished my college degree in Information Technology / Networking and a plethora of Technology Correspondence courses. Like I said, I cannot even fathom how much training I have received over the years. Let’s just say I am ‘WELL’ trained. Genuinely Affordable Computer Repair Services Some might say “There are cheaper computer repair technicians out there,” and they would be correct. However… What I am referring to is the Cost to Benefit Ratio. Someone once advised me never to say “cheap” because cheap implies quality. This is true and the technicians who charge less than I do are in fact… cheap. The service I offer is nothing less than top-of-the-line. You will not find another computer repair company of my calibur offering prices as low as mine. In fact my services start at $20.00 flat. Go ask for that at the Geek Squad. Actually the Geek Squad is comprised of very ‘low end’ technicians. They charge more simply because they are part of a ‘big-box’ store with a big name. Companies that provide technicians the skill-level of myself generally charge $85.00 per hour and up. You might ask, “why do I charge so little?” Well… because I can. First of all, I work for myself. I am the only employee collecting a pay check. Secondly, I have almost NO overhead. My commercial office is paid for by a service agreement. You know, “you help me and I’ll help you.” All my tools and equipment are paid for and my marketing is comprised of word of mouth, free ads, and business referrals. There you have it. Rather than ripping-off my clients, I charge less and get more. I am no math scholar but I can assure you, the clients add up. Simple multiplication. In Conclusion The bottom line is, I am exceptionally trained, ridiculously experienced, and obnoxiously affordable. Not only that, I am honest, reliable, and can be trusted with even the most sensitive data. To top it all off, PC Faction is a veteran owned an operated small business. And there you have it folks… When it comes to high-quality, affordable computer repair in Jacksonville, FL, PC Faction is a valid choice. If you need computer repair give me a call, I promise you will not be disappointed. ...read more

is cupid media safe

Online dating serviceCupid Media, which gives you a choice of ethnicity and lifestyles while looking for a mate, suffered a major, major compromise. An online break-in caused 42 million accounts to be compromised. This compromised included consumer records, password and email addresses. The breach took place way back in January 2013. According to Cupid Media director Andrew Bolton, they have notified those who may have been affected. He said they found the break in and took immediate actions to confront it. It’s also believed the same hacking group that got Cupid Media also gotAdobe and PR Newswire, among others. But there is a lesson to be learned here. Apparently, these hackers knew what passwords to use. Cupid users used passwords ’123456′ and ’111111′ over a combined three million times. Letter passwords, ‘iloveyou’, ‘lovely’, ‘qwerty’, ‘mylove’ and ‘iloveu’ were used a combined over 240,000 times. Now that pales in comparison to three million, but keep in mind this is a dating service website. So my conclusion is when you use straight number passwords or passwords retaining to the host website, that makes it easier for hackers to use and abuse. I’m glad many websites make you use a combination of letters and numbers to make you mix it up. That’s what I try to do anyway. And I know it’s hard to do, but try to get a different password for every site, or at least every other site. What tips do you have for password safety? ...read more
