In 2006 I hit rock bottom, again. I had been to a couple other rehabs in the past, and for what ever reason I continued to hit the streets. I was in dire straits when I called the hotline, and within 24 hours, I was on a plane to Jacksonville. I got more help there with the caring and knowledgeable staff than I had in the past. I believe this place is a life saver, and I would recommend it to anyone! Eight years later I am still grateful for my time there. Lakeview, keep up the good work! The only suggest I have is to personally vet any aftercare programs suggested. Through no fault of Lakeview I had a rather bad experience in my aftercare, but in spite of that, this coming September I will celebrate 9 years! ...read more

Pasco County Set To Receive Funds To Fight Prescription Drug Abuse
Pasco County may receive some extra help in fighting the prescription drug abuse epidemic in their community. State lawmakers are including $1 million dollars from the budget for a one-year program targeted at drug addiction and educating physicians and parents about the dangers of prescription pills. A small portion of the earmarked $1 million dollars will go to the Pasco County Sheriff's Office and the rest of the money would go to Baycare Health Services for a campaign that includes the addition of drug detox beds at its New Port Richey facility. "It's such a big problem in our state and in Pasco County in particular. We seem to be unfortunately, at the top of the line in a lot of categories that are bad," said Doug Leonardo, executive director of Baycare Behavioral Health.
