We have been attending this little Church for over 6 years now. We love when we walk in that we are greeted with love and compassion from our members.We all work very hard to reach out to people in need. Our food ministry is so important to us ,and we are so blessed to be able to help the ones that truly need us.God has been blessing us through all our struggles to make sure we are able to feed the people that come to Project Hope . I can't understand why you feel that our elders have been forced out of the church. We love our elders and enjoy when they are able to be at church. The ones that are no longer able to attend, we visit regularly at their homes.We are becoming elders ourselves and would hate to think we would be forced out. We feel our Pastor is a very informed man of God who has studied very hard to become a wonderful Teacher and Preacher. Many Years ago Lakewood Baptist Church was filled with Love and family and friends. My parents moved here in the early 1980s and everyone helped everyone. I was not a Baptist at the time but I always felt welcome. My Dad, my Hero died and my brother died a year later and we were at that Church. Surrounded by Love and Compassion and then My Mother was left with a new Pastor who my did not perform over my Father of Brother's services. All of the elders were forced out! What is a Church without Elders? I found that very sad and that my Mother would have been better with a more qualified Pastor. Now my Mother is very ill and all of those people who went to so many different churches are praying for her. I am being very nice in what I am saying. ...read more
