Summer Math Starts June 11, 2007

Summer math is starting soon.  Beginning June 11, 2007, Tutorng Professionals will open its Summer Math Program (yes, we still tutor all the usual subjects).  Summer Math is supplemental math for students at all levels, and as in all of our tutoring, each program will be adapted to the special needs of the individual student.  Who will benefit from Summer Math? * Gifted or other students who make good grades in math but  are going into challenging math courses in the fall and want to get some advanced preparation so they can start off on the right foot.  Especially those making the transition from 8th grade to high school.  Often that first semester in high school is very challenging just because of the new social situation and new level of expectations teachers place on the students * Passing students.  Students who passed math with a B or C but needed tutoring all year and really struggled to make the grade.  These students are often deficient in some basic skills that for one reason or another they did not learn in earlier grades.  They need concentrated effort to make up these deficiencies, continued review of the skills they have just learned during the past year,  and also preparation for the new harder math class they will be entering in the fall, to give them the best chance of success. * Failing students.  Students who made D's or F's in math may be repeating math in summer school, taking an online math class to make up their credit, or be facing that same class over again in the fall.  In each of these cases the student needs extensive help to turn them into math success stories.  I have tutored many students who came in with a failing grade and left with a solid A or B in that same math class. * Finally, students taking virtual school classes who just want to satisfy their math requirements in order to qualify for special programs, or allow time for special electives in the fall.  These students may need assistance in, completing assignments, understanding the math or just organizing and pacing themselves in order to finish the class in the alloted summer break period. If you have a student  who for one of these reasons or for some other reason could benefit from summer math please call me at 352-215-4058, to discuss how Tutoring Professionals can help you and schedule your first appointment.  Don't forget to check the Coupon section before July 2, 2007, to get $10 off your first visit.  In general summer math students meet twice a week throughout the summer, with flexible scheduling to accomodate camps, vacations and other summer activities.  I look forward to hearing from everybody.
