Everyday I am thankful we found Crestwell. Our move was difficult and the school community was very friendly. My son and daughter were accepted and respected. Truth is the owner Janice is absolutely ruthless and will lie and hurt anyone she can to get ahead. We just absolutely love Wellington. When we moved to the area and asked around, nearly everyone that we asked told us to take our children to Wellington Academy and told us of the great experiences that they have had there. We have been nothing but happy. Our children are kept safe, nurtured, and receive an excellent education - what more can a parent ask for? The facility is very clean and well-kept. The teachers are outstanding (especially the three year old teachers). They invite parents and family members to be an active participant in their child's education through daily communication, progress reports, and special family events throughout the year. We also love that there is an open door policy and we can visit our children any time. The administrators are very friendly and attentive to our family's needs. The best gift you can give your child is confidence. Use encouraging words and always congratulate your child for a job well done, or when you see that they have put forth a genuine effort to do their best. Instill a sense of, trying and failing is better than not trying at all. We learn more from our failures than from our successes, but this is a hard lesson to learn. Children need attention ALWAYS look for the positive. The more positive attention you give your child, the more he or she will try to get positive attention. However, if the only time that a child receives attention is when they do something negative, they will continue to do those things. This is because, to children (and even many adults), they feel that even negative attention is better than no attention. So, always look for ways to give your child positive, sincere attention. Be attentive and present During play, homework, or conversations with your child, make sure you focus your full attention on them. Sometimes your body is with your child, but your mind may be at work, or maybe you are frequently on your phone or computer. If this is the case, your child will sense that you have tuned out and neither one of you benefits from the time together. Your child loses the value of your being with her, concluding that she is not important. You lose the opportunity to learn about and enjoy your child. You also lose the opportunity to “relearn how to play” and have genuine fun! At each of our six preschools in Southwest Florida, building confidence in children is of the utmost importance.
