I recently contacted Stanford Auctions who have a weekly auction at the Wilton Theatre Auction Gallery in Wilton Manors to handle the sale of items from my uncle's estate. The items included several high end items like a leather top Maitland-Smith partner desk and numerous antiques. The auction picked up the items promptly and displayed them beautifully on their stage. The night of the auction the place was packed with people and several of our items sold for over $3000, so we were very happy. They represent themselves as knowledgable in collectibles and the market and have absolutely no expertise , they can not identify let alone place a value on your items. Unless the alternative is the dumpster I wouldn't bring anything of value there. Im sure they have their regular bidders who know that they can clean up there because the owners are clueless and I cant imagine what the auctioneer could be thinking..... maybe just let me get rid of this stuff so I can call it a night ...read more
