Consider yourself lucky if you are in a secure, financial position ... as many know, it's fortunate to buy up great real estate deals when the market is low.   The market won't always be low and some areas, such as beach, vacation spots will recover much faster than other areas.  Plan to hang onto your purchase as "long-term".   Not to buy and sell quick.  An example would be to buy properties to rent and down the road when the market is a Seller's market, then sell, if desired.  In our area of the Panhandle, the supply is high, which has brought the prices much lower than when the market was stable.  I'm looking forward to the market recovery and a return to a stable market.
