I VERY reluctantly give this facility one star simply because I am required to. We buried my great-aunt on Saturday. She has been a resident at Edwinola for several years. Within the past year, the staff at Edwinola, I would ASSUME (however, I am now having my doubts) with medical guidance, determined that my aunt was suffering from dementia with Alzheimer's type symptoms and transferred her to the Alzheimer's/dementia floor. On September 8, 2012, my aunt was eating dinner on that SAME Alzheimer's/dementia wing, with other residents. They were served hot dogs, among other things. My family and I are unsure of the details, primarily because Edwinola has cut off all contact with us (probably on the advice of legal counsel) and was very vague in the sparse answers it did give regarding the situation ...read more

My mother has been at The Edwinola since 2008, and just loves it there! We only have positive things to say about The Edwinola. The food is great, we eat with her there about once a week. The staff is fabulous, and there is always something going on for the residents to do. The Christmas party is always such a great success, and we look forward to it every year. My mother considers Edwinola to be her home because everyone treats her like she is family there. We are lucky to have her so close to home and at The Edwinola.
