Tom The Tax Man Blair Services

Tom Blair has been doing my personal taxes for 6 years, and he's done my business returns since my firm opened. Tom does a thorough job, explains what he's doing and why, has great integrity, and cares about his clients. He does this for a fraction of anyone else's fees, and I have the peace of mind that comes with filing an accurate return. He works hard to understand every client's situation, so as to ensure accuracy and maximize each family's and business' tax savings. He is generous in giving advice for the benefit of future planning. He needs to charge more for his services, but I'm not going to press him on that issue! ...read more

When you hear from IRS today, tomorrow or next week.

1)Don'tcontact IRS yourself in response to a notice or billing without talking with your tax proFIRST! 2)Volunteer nothingthat is not otherwise requested in writing through USPS by IRS (Note: IRS does not e-mail or fax you anything, nor do they normally telephone you...any variation from this rule is likely someone "phishing" for non-public personal information (identity theft is today a common and a real possibility if one can get your personal information). 3)Mind your face-to-face, telephone and writing mannerswhen dealing with the IRS.   Any and all misbehavior on your part, like belittling, cursing, threatening, etc., only serves to bring you more grief and less cooperation from the IRS. 4)You are guilty until proven innocent in IRS collection situations.   Documentation of verifiable facts will be your salvation; lack of detailed and complete documentation will most likely lead to your potential un-doing both financially and otherwise.   Deal with IRS through a licensed tax pro for best and most-efficient and effective results...doing it yourself is usually not a good idea...I often liken it to pulling your own teeth or taking out your own appendix...you might be able to accomplish the goal, but the "patient" is most likely really suffering in oh so many ways as the result.  5)Enrolled Agents (EAs)are the onlyfederally-licensedtax preparation and taxpayer representation experts (attorneys and CPAs are also licensed to practice before the IRS in behalf of taxpayers, but those professions are licensed by the state(s) and may represent taxpayers only in the states in which they are licensed). 6)Visit web sitewww.TomBlairEA.com  for monthly newsletters, financial and tax tips, calculations software access, plus useful and simplified continuing education for taxpayers' own use.   ...read more
