There is no benefit to choosing a large corporation when deciding to have a residential or commercial security system installed and monitored other than possibly the up front cost of the security system. This too can be misleading. Many companies offer forFREEyour front door, back door and a motion detector. This leaves many other openings to your home vulnerable to someone gaining access and not being detected until they are in your home and picked up by the motion detector. I don't know about you... I don't want the burglar in my home!!! With that being said you then need to find out what the cost would be to protect every opening into your home. Then you need to find out what the alarm monitoring is going to cost and how long of a contract you are going to have to sign. Before signing that contract be sure to see if there is anything stating that your monitoring rate will not go up. Usually the contract is one sided it just means that you can not cancel the service with out suffering a penalty. Also ask if the contract automatically renews if you do not call in the alloted time frame? Many people are under the false impression that they will be better protected by a larger company. That is just not true. Most companies even the big one subcontract out a central station facility so you are receiving the same level of monitoring service from a company that has 500,000 customers as the one that has 500. If a large companyt has their own central station that does not make it any safer or better for you. Finding out if the central station is local would be a good thing to find out. If you decide to use a local company it is important to find out if they are licensed by the state. To install security systems you must be a licensed contractor. Some smaller alarm companies just have an occupational license which is not legal. It is also important to make sure they are insured. I would also recommend checking to see if they are members of the Better Business Bureau. This would ensure they do not have any complaints against them since you are allowing them access to your home . Protection Plus is a local company located in Boynton Beach, Florida.
