Air conditioning service in Cape Coral - Maintenance, is it necessary?

"I didn't know that air conditioners had to be serviced." That is one of the most common statements that an air conditioning contractor will hear in the Cape Coral and Fort Myers area. Most homeowners believe that if you change your air filter when it is dirty, you will never need service until the system breaks down. Both the manufacturers and professionals in the business know that regular air conditioning maintenance is critical in keeping a system running properly and efficiently.     Not all air conditioning services are created equal. Beware of ads in the paper or telemarketers calling to let you know that they are in your neighborhood and are going to do a full air conditioning service for $24.99 . Ninety-nine percent of the time this is a sales company trying to get their foot in the door to sell you something that you do not need. The bottom line is that a company can not pay a decent air conditioning technician to come out to your home, perform an actual air conditioning maintenance, collect $24.99 and make a profit. It is not possible. Now, how do you know you are getting a proper maintenance? The best way to find out is to:  Ask what is included in the air conditioning maintenance. Ask if the maintenance is a check up or an actual air conditioning cleaning. Check out the company prior to scheduling by going to the West Florida Better Business Bureau athttp://www.westflorida.bbb.org/  Stay with the technician during the maintenance to ensure all the work has been completed (a good technician won't mind because they have nothing to hide)     Once a maintenance has been scheduled and completed, it is a good idea to get on a regular schedule to keep your air conditioner in top working order. Parts do get weak and fail, and it is typically cheaper to replace a part during a scheduled maintenance rather than at midnight on a Saturday night.      In closing, it is a difficult choice trying to pick out a contractor in the Cape Coral and Fort Myers area. There are hundreds to choose from and it can be overwhelming knowing whether or not you are making the right choice. You will know when you find the right contractor fairly quickly by their commitment to customer service and how well they listen to you, rather than trying to sell you something.  Blog written by  Art Barnes, Owner of Target Air Conditioning, LLC (239) 677-0403 http://www.targetac.com http://www.capecoralairconditioningservice.com State Certified Air Conditioning Contractor CAC1815353 ...read more

Cape Coral Air Conditioning and Heating - Who Should I Call?

Air Conditioning in Cape Coral FL is not a luxury, but a necessity. Our summers are longer than most with temperatures reaching the mid 90's on the hottest days with some of the highest humidity levels in the country. When people think of Southwest Florida, they think of being outside at the beach, fishing, and enjoying the outdoors. The fact of the matter is that most Floridians travel from their air conditioned home into their air conditioned vehicle to their final destination that is, somewhere indoor with more air conditioning.     Occasionally these air conditioning systems break down or do not work as they should. The top priority now becomes who do I call for air conditioning and heating repair in Cape Coral. There are endless resources out there that will give you hundreds of local contractors to choose from in our area since this is a popular profession to be in. The old way to find a contractor was to open up the phone book and pick one. Today, it seems as if the internet is now the easiest way to choose a contractor. Its simple, type in your town and what type of air conditioning repair and voila.... instant results. With new air conditioning companies popping up every day, this may not be the best route as pay per click on search engines can get anyone listed at the top of their category for the right price. I have always suggested that consumers first ask their neighbors, friends, and family who they use and if they are happy with their A/C company.      There are a few questions that should be asked when scheduling a service call. These questions will give you an idea of how much money you are going to be spending. There is nothing worse than having a repair done and getting a bill that was much more than you expected.  How much do you charge for a service call? Do you charge per hour or do parts include labor?  Do you quote the repair before any work is done? Do you offer free estimates to replace air conditioners?     I hope that this article helps those out there in need of air conditioning in Cape Coral and Southwest Florida. Always do your "homework" when choosing a contractor. Water Leaks and Air Conditioners

Water leaks coming from a home air conditioner are unfortunately a very common occurence to see in Southwest Florida. Any water not coming out of the designated condensate drain line is considered a water leak. If you see water anywhere near or on your air handler, there is a problem. Water damage can be costly to repair and is entirely preventable.Regardless of how long an air conditioner has been installed, proper installation of the heating and cooling system from day number 1 is critical to ensure future water leaks do not occur. On a daily basis we find that air handlers are not installed level or are pitched away from the condensate drain exit. Improper installation of an evaporator coil can cause problems also. Undersized ductwork can hold water in the a/c system or even worse, blow the water off of the coil onto the equipment insulation and saturating it. The most common cause of water leaks are due to clogged drain lines and a general lack of maintenance on the a/c unit.Protect your home and keep your air conditioner operating at its peak by scheduling regular air conditioning maintenance and service. The value of this cleaning service is worth every penny and can save you a bundle in unneccessary repairs to your home.If you have a home in Lee County, Florida feel free to contact us for any help or to set up a service. Our service area includes Cape Coral, Fort Myers, North Fort Myers, Lehigh Acres, Pine Island, and San Carlos Park.Target Air Conditioning, LLC(239) 677 0403http://www.targetac.comhttp://www.twitter.com/targetacState Certified Air Conditioning Contractor (CAC1815353) , Fully InsuredA Rating by the BBB (Better Business Bureau) ...read more
