About Bartow, FL
Bartow, located in Central Florida, is the county seat of Polk County, Florida. The city was named after the first Confederate officer to die in the Civil War, Francis S. Bartow. Bartow is home to many historical landmarks and buildings including the Stuart Hotel, built in 1914 and the First Methodist Church, built in 1907. Some of the city's landmarks have been scene in movies such as My Girl and China Moon. Every year, in early April, the city host the Blooming Arts Festival. The schools in Bartow are part of the Polk County School District. The city is home to the largest phosphate mining industry in the United States. Also located in Bartow is Bartow Ford, which is one of the country's largest car dealership and it has the highest sales in the nation.
