Alachua, located in a county by the same name, is part of the Gainesville, Florida metro area. The city is home to many outdoor activity center and recreational centers. Hal Brady Alachua Recreational Complex and Cleather Hathcock Community Center are both located here. Also located in Alachua are the Maude Lewis and Gerald Criswell Parks. Alachua is home to the Plantation Oaks Golf and Country Club.
