About Plano, TX
Plano is a suburb of Dallas, Texas, birthplace of Lance Armstrong located mostly within Collin County. Plano is in the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area known as the metroplex and the corporate headquarters to many companies including Dell, J.C. Penney, Frito Lay, Cinemark Theaters and Dr Pepper Snapple Group. Plano has been designated the best place to live in the Western United States by CNN Money magazine and in 2006, Plano was selected as the 11th best place to live in the United States by CNN Money magazine. Plano schools consistently score among the highest in the nation. Plano has a unique high school system, in which grades 9-10 attend a high school and grades 11-12 attend a senior high. The Interurban Museum in downtown is a great place to visit. The museum exhibit contains many artifacts associated with the Interurban Railway Line, as well as a history of Plano.
