What Is Section 8 / Housing Choice Voucher Program

Section 8  HCVP is a federally funded, locally administered housing rental assistance program that helps low-income families, the elderly and the disabled. Housing providers are required to provide decent, safe and sanitary housing. There are advantages to renting to participants in the Section 8 Program. The housing payments received is subsidized and paid by the local Housing Authority, and in some cases the tenant may have a portio to pay.
