Larry Merz Photography Photographs Frank Lloyd Wright House
Recently I had the honor of shooting a Frank Lloyd Wright house. I was a very difficult shoot with dark varnished wood under typically Wright designed overhangs and eves. I used new HDR Technology or Photoblending to successfully balance the beauty of the wood under the eves with all the windows and the bright sunny daylight. The results were simply stunning! ...read more

Magazine Quality Photography for Real Estate in Connecticut
Best Digital Cameras For Real Estate Interior Shots Taking interior shots of houses and commercial buildings for real estate purposes poses a number of challenges: Most consumer digital cameras have a lens with focal lengths starting at 35mm, which does not cover a wide enough angle to show off an interior properly; The interior may not be lighted well enough. These two challenges can be addressed a number of ways, e.g.: Take a number of panoramic shots and later stitch them together; Set up professional studio lights. The above solutions are not very practical for the majority of real estate sales agents and interior designers who need an easier and less time consuming alternative. So you need to hire me and I will solve all your Inetrior photography needs.I bring professional Flash lighting to get you that perfect room photo.I offer two levels of photography: REAL ESTATE PHTOGRAPHY: Less expense and relatively fast, this style is for MLS and realitor photo needs.MAGAZINE QUALITY PHOTOGRAPHY: I use more lighting and take more set up time to shoot high quality photos for your publication or portfolio. This level of service is used ny architects, interior designers and custom home builders. Nature of the Work Photographers produce and preserve images that paint a picture, tell a story, or record an event. To create commercial-quality photographs, photographers need technical expertise, creativity, and the appropriate professional equipment. Producing a successful picture requires choosing and presenting a subject to achieve a particular effect, and selecting the right cameras and other photographic enhancing tools. For example, photographers may enhance the subject's appearance with natural or artificial light, shoot the subject from an interesting angle, draw attention to a particular aspect of the subject by blurring the background, or use various lenses to produce desired levels of detail at various distances from the subject. Today, most photographers use digital cameras instead of traditional film cameras.Call Today for Great New Rates!ThanksLarry Merz203 222 1936 ...read more

Pyramid House in New Canaan,CT shot at Sunset
I had an assigment from New Canaan Magazine to shoot the newly renovated "Pyramid" House. I decided to shoot at sunset so you could see the unique features of the lighted pyramid structures on the roof. The house was designed by architect Edward Durell Stone and is also known as the Celanese House. After turning on the interior lights, I set up a tripod and waited for the "magic hour" lighting at sunset. Several exposures were tried to get the house and lighting right. For more photos of this house see my website: www.larrymerzphoto.com Photos and article were published in the April 2008 issue of New Canaan/Darien Magazine ...read more
