Penfield Service Center

1.0

By Debbie

I can't wait to see how I am attacked for simply sharing my story. (Penfield Service Center seems to monitor these review boards with what appears to be fake loyalists essentially calling negative reviewers idiots). How about $335+ to repair a cig lighter power outlet? In fairness, they called ahead of time to tell me they'd have to take off the console to get at the cig lighter wires. Having done it myself previously (a 10 minute job at most), I said "sure, go ahead". Took them 2 1/2 hours (supposedly) at $129/hour to "solder wires". The good news...they said, "we didn't charge you for the new wires". Wow, what a break! Probably saved me close to 58ยข in wire and solder materials! First (and last) time there. I'm going to be sure everyone I know in Fairfield (and hundreds more I don't know) are aware of this experience/POV. I am SO angry!!! ...read more

NAPA Auto Parts - Fair Auto Supply Inc

5.0

By Mel

In preparation for the Jan 11/12 Blizzard, I decided that it was a great idea to locate some tire chains for my front wheel drive vehicle. Deciding upon a local supplier, rather than pay for overnight shipping made better sense. So, I narrowed it down to a local NAPA store. Their website allowed for online shopping with a ship to store option. Early the next morning, I received a phone call from one of the store representative to confirm my order, and to inform me that he was attempting to have the product for me by the end the work day. I was excited to say the least, but was not holding my breath. Several hours later, the same Rep, called to inform me, that at the moment, my exact product was not available for end of day, but he was attempting to locate the same product at nearby stores early enough to beat the pending storm. Unfortunately it was not to happen, but I was truly impressed by the Hands-On Service that many stores are missing these days. Bravo NAPA! ...read more

Valvoline Instant Oil Change

1.0

By Martha

Do NOT go here! I took my 1997 Audi A4 for an oil change and they had lots of trouble with it. It began overheating.. the front guy even asked if he could drive my car around the block, I guess to see if it was ok.. I drove the 2 blocks to my home and the next morning could barely get the car out of my driveway and could not get the car to go past 50 miles an hour.. the transmission was completely shot.. I had NEVER had any indication that this would happen.. I took it to a transmission place and they said I needed a new transmission. I did not fix the car because it would have been costly for a car that age along with another maintenance repair that it needed. I ended up donating the car to an Audi technician who I hope was able to fix it at a reduced rate and use it.. I should have brought the car right back to them or even sued.. BEWARE!!! ...read more
