Performance Imports (aka Danbury Benz) represented a client of theirs in selling a car, however, misrepresented the cars condition. In multiple advertisements they claimed "everything works, no rust." Also, I paid them for a safety inspection and oil change just after purchase. I bought the car with their assurance that the car was ready for a trip to the bottom of South America with my wife and three year old boy. What I got was not that. The cars brakes were unsafe, a caliper piston welded from heat and the inner pads to bare metal, in other words, unsafe stopping putting my family at risk. I mentioned this to one of their techs who said it was probably just from sitting. They never called me back. The mileage difference from when I bought the car and pad for the safety inspection was about 30 miles. Last time I checked, it is impossible to wear out a set of brake pads in 30 miles or from a car sitting in a lot. ...and they 'seemed' so nice and trustworthy.... Many other issues. ...read more

The first time I went there they tried to charge me $320 to change rear brake pads. When to another garage and they told me my brake pads were still good for 7000 miles (They also gave me a quote of $65 for when they would need to be changed.) . Just the other day I went there because I had a bolt stuck in my tire and asked them to repair it. They told me they couldn't because the bolt was just too big. They also told me I needed 4 new tires (at $150 a pop). I told them I wasn't going to buy any tires and I had them put the spare on (Which they charged me $20 for). I took the tire to my other garage and they fixed my tire for $4. I do not recommend them to anyone. They try to act nice and all but all they try to do is screw people over. I was looking for a small battery for my camera and I found it on a website and it directed me that Mohawk Center carried it. So I gave them a call even though I had my doubt - wondering why would a tire place had that kind of battery. I explained my situation to Bob the owner and he said he could ordered it for me even though this is not something he normally stocked. He definitely went out of his way to help me get ths unusal battery, called me when it got in his store. I'm sure he didn't make any money from this transation (the battery didn't cost more than $5), but his willingness to help and his customer-centric attitude made me his customer when I need t ires for my car! With the exception of one person, the overall service was by far the worst ever experienced. By the time the car was ready to be picked up, 4 days past the stated delivery time, it was in worse shape then when it was dropped off. Thus an extra day was added to the waiting time as well as additonal costs. Clearly was charged for worked not performed, which was even indicated by people "servicing" the car!!! ...read more
