As a result of the counter claim from the church and Jim asked the board to consider the offer previously made by Jim French to represent us. Jim French had offered to represent the board in this matter for $1.00. A motion was made by Mike and seconded by Demi to accept the offer from Jim French. There were two nay votes and five ayes from the board on the motion. Jim will contact Mr. French to engage him and to begin working with him on the scheduled January 11, 2011 follow up medication session. ...read more

Jim, as President, represented the MCC at the small claims hearing on Tuesday, December 7th at 2:30. The hearing was also attended by church leaders Dave Blehm, Marc Maurer and Matt Guedes. No settlement was reached with the church in the mediation. The MVBC did offer to rescind their counter claim if Jim would rescind the MCC claim and wanted Jim to make a decision. He declined to do so since this is a board decision and not his alone. The next hearing will be held on January 11, 2011. It will be an extended session up to one hour and, since the church has insisted on being represented by three individuals, it was agreed that each side can bring up to three people with the MCC being represented Jim Hamlin plus two other board members. The MCC was asked to come with representatives empowered by the board to agree to a settlement if one is reached. ...read more
