My daughter wanted a hedgehog for her birthday. We have no breeders near us, but we're planning a trip to Denver and decided to try and find an animal on our trip. I contacted Grand Mesa Hedgehogs and left several voice messages. A few days later, when I had not gotten a response, I left an email. A few days later, we left on our trip. I left another message that morning saying that we were coming, as I saw on the website that appointments are required. We drove 2 hours out of our way to try and connect with this breeder. The business is run from Peggy's home. When we pulled up in front of the residence, a teen girl was getting out of a car and ran past us to the front door and went in. The front door was left open and I could hear this girl talking with Peggy saying that someone was out front. I also saw the disarray of the house and understood why appointments were necessary. No one came to the door and 2 dogs tried to escape, which I corralled and then rang the doorbell. Peggy came to the door and said she hadn't gotten any messages and she couldn't show us the hoglets because there was a child there that had an ear infection that she had to take care of. She told us to come back seven hours later and she could help us. We left and found a very nice breeder in Denver that got my three hundred dollars. ...read more

Finally an alternative to commercial products. The Rescued Dog is a great place, dog friendly and will make anything you ask. You can call in an order for pick up or delivery, even when they aren't opened. My dogs love their cookies. We tired one of their meals and it past with flying colors.
