For those of you looking for an outdoor/indoor storage facility you should check out SMARTBOX. They deliver a box right to your front door. You fill it up at your own pace, then they come and pick it up whenever you like. I much prefer this method and the competitive price to traditional drive-up storage. I highly recommend SMARTBOX to anyone in the Denver area. ...read more

Smartbox Moving and Storage

Great service. The Smartboxes were nice because I did not have to rent a truck, move my things 4 times, and have to have it done in the time alloted for a rental truck. Instead, they dropped off their boxes and I filled them at my leisure for about the same price, with half the effort. When my boxes were filled up, I called Smartbox and they delivered them to their warehouse. I would use these guys anytime. ...read more

Inventory Management for the Homestage

Home staging has become a flourishing segment of the service market. Staging a home often helps the agent or homeowner to sell the home more quickly. Home staging gives a warm, clean feeling to the home, making it more appealing to potential buyers. Running a successfulhome staging businessinvolves much more than just furniture and an eye for details. The inventory of your home staging business can quickly grow as your customer base expands. The following tips will help you manage your inventory and contribute to the overall success of your home staging business. Clear tubs– use clear storage tubs for towels and linens. The clear tubs make it easy to see what is inside without digging through the items, making it easy for you to decide if you need an item or not.Open shelves– use open shelves for small items, such as vases and decorative pieces. Again, the visibility makes it easier to see what you need at a glance. Use ropes or straps to wrap around the shelves in order to prevent items from falling off.Keep sets together– if you have particular items that are always used together, such as a comforter set with matching decorative pieces, keep the sets stored together. Be sure and rearrange the sets on a regular basis to keep the looks fresh and stylish.Make notes– keep notes on the outside of each tub you use. Note what is inside the tub and anytime the contents change, change the note. You will never have to open a tub to see what is inside.Keep a list– keep a list of your inventory and each piece that goes in and out. You will always know what item is where, lessening the risk of losing items. This also makes it easier to plan for other jobs because you will always know what is available.Use a SmartBox– whether you are just starting out, or have been in business for years, the constant moving and wear and tear on your vehicles can be all-consuming.SmartBoxcan be the perfect solution. You can useSmartBoxesto store your own supplies. Or use aSmartBoxto store your clients furnishings while you depersonalize the property. Either way, we take care of the moving, so you can focus on what’s truly important for your business.Keeping track of your home staging inventory is important. The more items that you have, the more organization you need. Utilize these tips and add your own organization skills to the process. You will save time and money by always being on top of your inventory. ...read more

Boxes, More Boxes and a Bottle of Wine?

We're all about storage and storage facilities. We get it. We know that through the years we collect items that we don't have enough room for, don't need immediate access to, and most importantly, we just can't part with. For whatever reason, these items have value — sentimental or otherwise. That being said, we're not exactly sure about this "other" type of storage facility located in Dallas that's opening up a new location. Yes, that means there already is one in excistence. What we're talking about is a wine storage facility. We have to say, it's definitely different in its concept. It's cool — literally and figuratively. But is it just too much? Is it really necessary? Let us get back to you after we drink a couple of glasses of Chardonnay. DFW's Only Dedicated Wine Storage Facility Opens New Dallas Location http://www.benzinga.com/pressreleases/11/10/p1974661/dfws-only-dedicated-wine-storage-facility-opens-new-dallas-location ...read more

How to Organize Your Small Business

Are you considering a work related relocation?  Current economic difficulties and high unemployment levels are causing many people to consider moving “to where the jobs are.”  But before you haul out the “For Sale” sign and rent a Uhaul, you might want to take a moment and consider a few things. Are you considering a work related relocation?  Current economic difficulties and high unemployment levels are causing many people to consider moving “to where the jobs are.”  But before you haul out the “For Sale” sign and rent a Uhaul, you might want to take a moment and consider a few things.1. Are there really job openings where you are headed? – Do your research.  Is there a place or a need for your particular skill set in your new location?  Are there job openings that you would qualify to apply for?  Before you move for a job, be sure you can find a job where you are going.2. What kind of salary would you be making? – So, you found out there are jobs available, but what are they paying?  Will your monthly income go up or down?  If it goes up, is it significant enough to warrant a move?3. What is the cost of living? – A bigger salary is great, but will that larger income be enough to cover increased cost of living.  Look into the cost of living in your potential new home and consider if you can afford to live there.4. What will the work environment be like? – Everywhere you go the work environment is different.  Can you handle the stress of a big city job, or do you work best in a laid back, small town type of place?  Be sure you can handle the work environment before you move.5. What will the commute be like? - Are you used to the efficient public transportation of the major metropolitan areas?  Do you have a trustworthy car?  How far will your home be from your office?  Make sure your ok with potential commute changes before you make the decision to relocate for a job.6. Will the company pay for relocation? - Moving can be expensive even with help from your new company. Without it, its time to cost justify if the new job is worth it. One way to help keep costs down is to make the move easy. Instead of renting a truck by the day, paying for movers, and for gas and mileage, consider your other option – portable storage units. With SmartBox, you can take your time loading and unloading, and make the move on your time. And with locations all over the US, it may just keep your excitement up about your new job prospect, and give you one more reason to make the move.  ...read more
