Crested Butte, nicknamed "The Wildflower Capital of Colorado" was a mining town. The other main industry in the city was ranching. The city is said to be one of the places where mountain biking started and is home to the Mountain Bike Hall of Fame. The city, a widely popular location for skiing, is also home to a many summer festivals including an arts festival and a wildflower festival. Crested Butte is the home town of MTV's reality show The Hills star Heidi Montag. It was also the setting for the Disney movie Snowball Express.
