The staff was very unfriendly. They treat the patients not as people but as dollar signs. They don't care to actually help their clients, they only care about how much they can bill you. I went in looking for comfort and answers to help me through my pregnancy. The doctor was okay at best, but the staff was absolutely horrible. One in particular Maria T. was a heartless mean spirited person. They rush you in and out. The are vague on their answers to your questions. They quote you and setup payment plans, then after your visit they hit you up with an enormous bill and say well too bad they are not responsible. They are not an organization you want to trust with your birthing plan and definitely not something as precious as your baby. They have a fancy front, but are the worst organization and I suggest going to a truly caring doctors office suitable for sharing the most wonderful experience of your life. ...read more

If I could give a rating of zero stars, I would. My neighbor gave me the referral and now, she is embarrased. I had an appointment, which the doctor cancelled. I asked to see a different doctor on the same day. Out of all the doctors there, not one could see me. I explained I needed a Friday appointment, that is the best day for me. The office told me Fridays were not the most convenient days for the doctors. I guess seeing patients interferes with their weekend plans. \t\n\t\nI was rescheduled for another Friday. I missed the turn into the office park and had to turn around. I called and said I was close but was running late. I was told that as long as I got there within 15 of my appointment time, the doctor would see me. I got there at 3:44 for an 3:30 appointment. Late, I know, but the receptionist said it would be fine. The doctor refused to see me! It was a beautiful Friday afternoon and she didn't want to stay.\t\n\t\nI called on Monday to speak with the office manager. She said that I never should have been told the doctor would see me. She was also told that I arrived with paperwork that I hadn't filled out. This is a lie. I never received paperwork prior to my arrival. \t\n\t\nThe office is poorly run, the doctors seem to be punching a clock - not something I want in an OBGYN.\t\nI've had to cool my heels waiting for doctors plently. But when I'm late and the weather is nice, the doctors don't have the time for you. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere that has doctors who care about patients. ...read more

Is Chocolate Really Healthy for You?

Now we are not saying to eat chocolate 3 times a day but read on to learn how dark chocolate can boost your health.Chocolate is made from plants, which means it contains many of the health benefits of dark vegetables. These benefits are from flavonoids, which act as antioxidants. In fact, dark chocolate contains nearly 8 times the number of antioxidants found in strawberries.Health Benefits of Dark ChocolateDark chocolate is good for your heart. A small bar of it everyday can help keep yourheartand cardiovascular system running well. A few health benefits of dark chocolate are: Lower Blood Pressure: Studies have shown that consuming a small bar of dark chocolate everyday can reduce blood pressure in individuals with high blood pressure. Lower Cholesterol: Dark chocolate has also been shown to reduce LDL cholesterol (the bad cholesterol) by up to 10 percent. it stimulates endorphin production, which gives a feeling of pleasure it contains serotonin, which acts as an anti-depressant Doesn't Chocolate Have a lot of Fat?: Here is some more good news -- some of the fats in chocolate do not impact your cholesterol. The fats in chocolate are 1/3 oleic acid, 1/3 stearic acid and 1/3 palmitic acid: Oleic Acid is a healthy monounsaturated fat that is also found in olive oil. Stearic Acid is a saturated fat but one which research is shows has a neutral effect on cholesterol. Palmitic Acid is also a saturated fat, one which raises cholesterol and heart disease risk. That means only 1/3 of the fat in dark chocolate is bad for you.  FINAL TIPS Tip #1 – Watch the calories. This information doesn't mean that you should eat a pound of chocolate a day. Chocolate is still a high-calorie, high-fat food. Most of the studies done used no more than 3.5 ounces of dark chocolate a day to get the benefits. One bar of dark chocolate has around 400 calories. If you eat half a bar of chocolate a day, you must balance those 200 calories by eating less of something else. Cut out other sweets or snacks and replace them with chocolate to keep your total calories the same.   Tip #2 -Go for Dark ChocolateDark chocolate has far more antioxidants than milk or white chocolate. These other two chocolates cannot make any health claims. Dark chocolate has 65 percent or higher cocoa content. Tip #3 -Skip the NougatYou should look for pure dark chocolate or dark chocolate with nuts, orange peel or other flavorings. Avoid anything with caramel, nougat or other fillings. These fillings are just adding sugar and fat which erase many of the benefits you get from eating the chocolate.
