Over the years, I've seen many graphic designs in Los Angeles come and go. However, onedesign trendthat is seemingly outlasting and continuing into the future is the retro look. Thankfully though, in my opinion, retro design elements are mixed with the new and in innovative ways. It's very hip in LA. That's probably one of the things I love most about Los Angeles, is the creativity you find everywhere. I just love beautiful design, period. Lately, one of the design trends I've been attracted to are, what I like to refer to as, "organic modern" or "woodsy design." I'm not sure if other graphic designers or artists would term it in the same manner. The "organic modern" is a graphic design category that I just made up in my head out of sheer personal preference and definition. I see the "organic modern" trend catching steam and am seeing it everywhere. As agraphic designer, I think it's vital to be on top of trends and what has fallen out of fashion. Most importantly, because what is passe is usually boring, unlikeable, or no longer attractive. What can be worst than a design that has faded? The design that looks like it's trying to hard. It's akin to that super overly nice and annoying person that makes your skin crawl. I don't know how to describe it but I just know it when I see it. It literally makes me anxious every time I see it. I want to fix it. Unfortunately, I came across a web design today like that. I feel guilty when I have these kinds of thoughts because I know they probably really are trying really hard. But at the same time I wanted to reach out to them and tell them how they could improve their web design. Of course, I couldn't.
