I purchased a one pound, resealable, plastic bag of shelled walnuts in Morro Bay at Spencer's Fresh Markets that were the best I've ever had. Not ONE was rancid. Others are 1 to 5% distasteful (must happen in storage & shipping and inattention)). I found them fresh, crisp, excellent quality in every respect. No small pieces, mostly half-halves.
