Summer Down Under, has become a by line or a cliche'... What it really means is Summer below the equator... Basically the seasons are oppposite, so "Summer Down Under" consists of our winter months Nov - Mar. During these months, those countries, located below the equator experience a heavier rainfall, or "monsoun" season. For this reason, it would not be the best time to visit Tahiti, Fiji, Cook Islands, Samoa, Tonga, Vanuatu, New Caidonia, my favorite places! I would travel there anytime, but if you are planning once in a lifetime vacation, plan to visit these palces April - Oct, and the weather will be dryer, less humid, and more enjoyable!
