The Beauty Box Salon and Spa

1.0

The Beauty Box Salon itself is nice looking and clean, however the stylist I went to - Danielle Blanc - absolutely cannot give a good, quality hair cut. I went to get my hair cut and to have my color touched up and blonde slices put back in. I used to be a stylist before recently moving and having a baby and I knew I was in trouble as soon as she started cutting my hair. She completely rushed through my hair cut and basically butchered my hair. My hair had grown out quite a bit and I decided that I wanted to go back to having a long A-line cut with an extreme angle. I was very thorough in explaining to her exactly what I wanted and even showed her a picture of how it was prior and explained how I wanted my slices. She basically chopped (and I say chopped as opposed to cut because that is what it is when you take thick sections of hair and cut away - chopping) my hair straight across the back to right behind my ears and then tried to angle the longer hair that was left in the front. It was disconnected and looked like someone forgot to finish cutting/blending. Slightly stacked the back and did not blend it properly so it was choppy looking. I told her it did not look right and tried to explain what was wrong and finally got frustrated. A good, thorough, quality haircut should not take only 15-20 minutes including blow drying/flat ironing - which she also rushed through and burned my neck with the flat iron. I received better haircuts while I was in cosmetology school!!! My color was mediocre at best, as the slices she put in were way to thick, causing a very thick/chunky and overly blonde effect. Needless to say as soon as I got home I cut and blended my hair the best that I could so that it would look decent until I could grow it out again to have my long A-line. I also had to go back in and add color to rid myself of the chunky, thick slices. I later found out as well, that one of my friends had gone to her and again, Danielle rushed through her haircut and style. After my friend got home and had a chance to take a closer look she realized how uneven and choppy her hair looked and had to go back to get it fixed. If you want a good, precise, quality haircut and a stylist that takes the time to cut your hair right, Danielle is not the stylist for you! I normally do not write reviews, but it was that bad so... You've been warned! ...read more
