These people are just plain bullies !!! And you MUST push back when they try to push you around. DEMAND THEY SHOW PROOF OF YOUR DEBT!!! If they do NOT have proper documentation of charges and payments. They have no legal right to bill you. If they are messing with your credit scores... contact the credit bureau and explain... many times they will tell you what you need to do to remove the bad debt from your rating until the matter is resolve. And... be firm when speaking to them.. My call went like this... I get a call from a computer..., when the person comes on she asks if it is me... Without confirming who I am, I say.... who are you & what do you want? She says her name & the company name... I say are you an attorney, collection agency or what. She says she needs to know who she is talking to. I say.. you called me ... tell me who you are before I give you any answers. Are you an attorney, collection agency or what. She says.. a financial institution. I say... ok, fine ...put it in writing, goodbye. & I hung up. You are NOT obligated to accept any calls from them, period. Terrible. The paper trail they supposedly keep is continually being covered up by mistakes made in collection process to an attempt to collect a debt. #1: WRONG ADDRESS/WRONG CONTACT NAME- #2: NEVER RCVD BILL IN ANY FORM, THIS COMPANY CALLED MY FAMILY RESIDING IN ANOTHER CITY/ASKED FOR "PENNY" (I DON'T KNOW ANY "PENNY") #3: SENT MEDICAL BILLING TO ANOTHER FAMILY MEMBER AT A DIFFERENT ADDRESS UNDER HER NAME #4: UPON SPEAKING W/ THIS CO.,GAVE THEM THE CORRECT ADDRESS/NAME TO REBILL- THEY HAD TYPED WRONG ADDRESS. BILL NOT RCVD. #5: UPON NOT RECEIVING A REVISED BILL, A CALL WAS PLACED AGAIN TO INQUIRE -GAVE THEM THE CORRECT BILLING ADDRESS AGAIN -ASKED THEM TO EMAIL ME A COPY OF AN ITEMIZED BILL. #6: NO EMAIL-WRONG EMAIL LISTED -ASKED TO RESEND #7: RCVD EMAIL, UNABLE TO OPEN -We pay our bills on time and have stellar credit.
