I won an online auction through Julien's Live auction site. The company they currently use for shipping/storing the won items is Art Pack 19240 Van Ness Avenue, Torrance, CA 90501 First of all, it took me almost 2 weeks after my auction ended to even get in touch with the company. Finally, I received an enail estimate for shipping. For 8.5" x 11" envelope of less than a pound in weight, they estinated $95. I was, to say the least, apalled. I asked Jeff Rubie, the owner for a shipping figure run down and they ignored me. I asked them why the price was so high and again got ignored. In the end, they refused me shipping at all and sent my item back to Julien's to send to me. They obviously did not like that I questioned his pricing, his motives, and his speed in shipping. This business is obviously used to dealing with the rich, marking up prices, and not being questioned about it. Julien's says if a buyer contacts them after auction end, another form of shipping or storage for pickup can be arranged. I advise anyone who does not want to go through this kind of shoddy business treatment to do just that. Jeff Rubie is about the most rude business owner I ever had to deal with. He is in business for the money and I would not trust him with any item I purchased in any form.
