This is the most unethical and unprofessionally run organization I have ever dealt with. My son passed away in Santa Barbara, CA on Jan 24th. We are Illinois residents and Westside Memorial worked with Inman To enbalm and transfer his body home to us. The State of California assured me the information needed for his death certificates was in their database March 17th Wwe have been told these papers were mailed from Westside several times since Apr 23rd and still we do not have them. We have spent hundreds of dollars re-scheduling flights to California to retrieve his auto and other belongings based on information given by Westside to our local Funeral director. I have every intention of reporting you to the California Funeral Director's Association. You were paid for your services in Jan. but all the other burial fees have had to wait for you people to get us these death certificates. You claim the first set was lost in the mail. I have lived in Taft all my life, and everyone uses Erickson and Brown Funeral Home. When my brother passed away (due to a car accident) we went to Erickson and Brown, they over charged us on everything, the owner was not compassionate, informed my mother that she could not see her son, unless we paid an additional 300.00. I have never been to a funeral service before, where the professionalism was at it's highest. The funeral director and his staff were very giving, kind and professional. They taylor the services to what the FAMILY wants and not what is of the "norm". When they said that they wanted to reflect my grandfathers life, they ment every word, we had a celebration of his life, the way that grandpa would have wanted it.
