Dr. David Meng, DDS & Associates, DDS

I've had the pleasure of seeing Dr. Meng for years now. I have referred all of my family and friends because he is absolutely the BEST, nicest, most genuine Dentist I've ever encountered. His offices are very clean and modern and he always makes me feel really comfortable. . Because of Dr. Meng, I'm proud to smile and show off my pearly whites. My nasty metal fillings are now gone so I can laugh with confidence. My once jagged, small yellow teeth have been replaced with beautiful, natural looking veneers just like the celebrities! I can't believe it. What a difference it has made in my life. Dr. Meng is hands down THE BEST. ...read more

Simply The Best is how I describe Dr. John and his office staff ! I have been going to Dr. John for a quite a while now since I have been undergoing Invisalign treatment. I am not finished yet but my teeth already have never looked better in my entire life ! Recently , I had to go in because I had to have an emergency root canal. Dr. John pretty much saw me right away and because of some complications ended up staying late until almost 9PM ! Never even imagined that a dentist would do that for a patient ! But that gives a small picture of how wonderful Dr. John is. He explains procedures and what I need to know better than anyone . He does such beautiful work. He along with his tremendous staff are so warm, friendly and professional, that I have found a home here and will never leave. 5 stars is just not enough. It personally feels great to have found the best dentist in the Bay Area ! ...read more

Root Canals

Endodontics Root Canal Therapy The goal of endodontic therapy is to preserve the tooth. In the past, injured or diseased teeth frequently had to be extracted. This caused more problems to the patient. (see our upcoming blog on missing teeth) Today, teeth often can be saved through endodontic treatment.  Modern technology allows the patient to have root canal therapy in a  comfortable, and one visit procedure.  It is rare that with today's dental science and techniques a patient would have to return for multiple appointments to complete a root canal.  There are exceptions to this rule --if the patient was seen for a 'brief emergency visit in which the patient was taken out of pain temporarily by having their nerve inside the tooth opened and drained--and then at a separate visit to complete the root canal (this 2 step process is usually only done because the patient and or the dental office does not have the time to complete the surgery at the time the patient presented with pain, or the patient's tooth is so heavily infected that they need to return after they have had the open and drain AND have taken antibiotic to clear the infection so that at the follow up visit the doctor can work in the area without the tooth weeping and or bleeding therefore not allowing the area to become dry and sterile for proper closure and construction of the inside of the tooth which is called a post and build up. When emergencies arise and a patient has discomfort it is imperative that you seek treatment immediately. We accommodate emergencies and they will be seen promptly in our office.  Never delay when infection is present---call your doctor and if you are in severe pain go to your nearest hospital.  Infection in the blood is not a matter to take lightly. Teeth Whitening

Whitening Whitening is a safe, effective procedure, which brightens teeth that are discolored, stained or darkened in color because of injury. It may be done entirely in the office or we can fabricate a custom tray system for you to whiten at home. A professional cleaning is not always necessary, however, if you have not visited a dental office in more than a year it can help to have the plaque removed 1st by scheduling a teeth cleaning prior to whitening. Old fillings and crowns will not whiten so having a comprehensive exam before you whiten your teeth will ensure that you are a candidate for this procedure. Be careful of purchasing whitening systems and or gels from the internet--the formulations PH balance and it's effectiveness are 2 areas that the consumer should be aware of---for more details on this---stayed to next time--as this blog continues this information. ...read more
