San Diego Fence Company

Rob the Salesman agreed to be present to insure the proper construction and boundaries during in his words ""most of the installation"". He wasn't. The first thing out of the installers mouth was I will do the best I can but cannot guarantee it won't go over on your neighbors property. I had him stop and call Rob to return immediately. He returned, with attitude and an offensive demeanor complaining he didn't need to stand there and babysit. He soon departed and sure enough problems with the measurements, gate sizes, and unpainted parts surfaced. The San Diego Fence Company customer service woman when I called there first was rude, callous, and actually stated that the owners of the company were incommunicado and management was not available. Wow an owner that won't communicate with their bread and butter? and no Company Manager?.She obviously was running interference for Rob the salesman as I received a very nasty call from him shortly after I hung up after getting no result from her.. He was the one I was calling the fence company about so I did not need her to have him call and she was informed of such! Bottom line was entrance gate smaller than agreed upon and written in black and white on my contract, gate and gate frame installed at a slant instead of straight across like the rest of the worlds, the fencing posts were not all pre-painted as depicted in the contract and paid for, the boards that were painted were sticky, stuck together and were literally being pried apart before stapling to the frame leaving a filthy stained unattractive piece of work. Initially informed they were all being painted and set to go weeks before installation date. The reason over a month out before installation was so everything would be pre cut, painted completely dry, and installed according to Rob. I had enough and called Home Depot to complain. Once they knew Home Depot was entering the picture Everything was cleaned up and re-painted something I was told by the installer they would not be doing but just painting the posts. The gate was still not what I contracted for. Home Depot coming to see for themselves at my request. Rob the lying salesman called my home accused me of looking for something for nothing (I had already paid half as deposit) and questioning my moral character and honesty. He was right though I was looking for something THE STINKING CONTRACTED JOB I WAS PAYING FOR WITHOUT THE ADDED AGGRAVATION! Once home depot entered the picture the fence was almost all repainted to look nice (imagine that) the day before the Home Depot Official was coming to inspect. The next morning bright and early Mr Ross Home depots Regional Compliance Manager was at my home and right on top of things. He took charge and had them remove the undersized gate and construct a new opening in accordance with the contract. Had it not been for Mr. Ross coming to my home to inspect, go over my contract with these people, and ordering them to fix the issues to what was contracted for I am sure I would have had to take these lying idiots to go see Judge Judy. All that kept spewing out of Robs lying mouth the whole time Mr Ross was there was excuse after excuse, pointing blaming fingers at me and how stubborn I was. How dare I want a company to follow through and give me the service and product I contracted for! Avoid this outfit like the plague! Two more days have passed and they have not shown, called, nor shown up with the new gate and finished the job. Big huge hole there where the gate should be. So much for letting the dog out.I guess I'll be calling the number on the card Mr. Ross gave me. No reflection on Home Depot other than the fact they picked a poor choice for fence subcontracting with this outfit! ...read more
