I am being penalized for not having drug coverage during a period of 5 months when I only had Medicare A&B, auto deducted from my monthly Social Security. I am unable to find the provision that allows my now current insurance provider (KPMG) to increase my lifetime monthly premium. I've been unsuccessful in locating this ruling and a 'volunteer' medicare specialist a local senior center is not aware of it either. She attempted to research and was unable to locate it. IF this is correct, where is it stated and why isn't it published publicly, similar to the well known, well published information advising social security beneficiaries of life time penalties associated with late medicare enrollment. The amount I pay is small (less than $1), but for a lifetime it adds up. Additionally, if I had been aware of this I would have purchased a supplemental drug plan (e.g. Humana) Can you help please? I am having no luck on my own.If I could make an appointment in your office it would be greatly appreciated. Regards, Barbara Kinney-(408) 799-8547, kinneybarbaras@aol.com ...read more

San Jose Board and Care Kimberlys Residential Care Home

I am so happy to have found this place for my mom. She was living at Belmont Village before this and although that place is nice in some ways, it is not appropriate for a senior who is not independent. My mom is in a wheelchair and is unable to live without help bathing, dressing, toileting and getting out of bed and into her chair. The caregiver ratio at Kimberlys is one caregiver for each 3 residents and it is a home not a huge four story complex where you have to push a button and then wait 20 minutes to get help. The owners also care about their employees so they are happy and relaxed and that feeling is transferred to the residents. When I visit mom now it is like I am visiting her in her own home, everyone is hanging out in the living room maybe watching a movie and the caregivers constantly check on their needs. The place is super clean and the workers are the nicest sweetest people around. Like I said, you can't possibly do better. ...read more

If you like greedy property owners, lazy and incompetent onsite managers, and being threatened, bullied, and intimidated for reporting problems with your living conditions, then you will be happy to call this place home. Otherwise, you should scratch this place off your list and look elsewhere. ...read more
