Pacific Judo & Ju Jitsu Academy

I stopped in this place and I thought I was back in Japan. They actually use uniforms (gi's) and they bow to one another! Very serious and very impressive. I was recommended by a friend who trained there for 2 years but left to college. He has yet to find another school like it in all of southern cal. I'm definitely signing up in 2 weeks when I get paid - and their rates aren't bad either. The training looks good - and hard, but it's not all ground fighting and I like that better. I did that and it's limited. Good variety and good instructors - I'd recommend it. ...read more

K-O Kung-Fu Karate

If home is where the heart is, then KO Kung Fu Karate is not only a haven for those seeking physical and mental fitness but also a second permanent residence for many of its students. Everyone LOVEs being here and it shows. Immediately stepping into the school one senses the warmth, professionalism, and inspirational tone that is set by Master Ozuna and his truly exceptional staff like the Currans, Dongs, Kaufmans. These world class athletes will amaze you with their skills and even more so with their passion and humility. This martial arts school is not an island unto itself; it reaches out to the community with programs like KO CAREs and takes in those turned away by other schools, like those with Attention Deficit Disorder. The school motto is that there is NO student they cannot teach. They have redefined for me what constitutes a true teacher and have taught me principles that I apply not only in martial arts but also in my personal and professional life in medicine. ...read more

We have had a number of inquiries from women who are interested in participating at Heroes Martial Arts, but are a little reluctant because of the close contact nature of the grappling arts.  We are frequently asked if “there are any other girls who are grappling at our school yet?” (The answer is “Yes” by the way). Furthermore, it been our experience that everyone tends to benefit from training with their peers and the top women combat athletes in the world have often been pushed by training on a regular basis with other women. In order to attract more women to our grappling programs, we are offering the following specials: First of all, for the remainder of March only, we are offering a special “Ladies Only” rate of $80 per month for unlimited training, and we are waiving the usual sign up fee!  This is one of the best work out deals in the South Bay, and for BJJ this is one of the best deals in the industry.
