Everest did a great job finding a very qualified tenant for my home. I tried it on my own for two months and found no one. As soon as I asked Everest to help, he brought great people my way. He is so responsive and always answers the phone or calls back quickly. I enjoy working with him and will refer him to all my friends. ...read more

TIAA Financial Services

I have never dealt with a more incompetent company than TIAA-Cref. Everything takes paperwork and then the company consistently mishandles it. Once they found out I had accounts at another institution, I was constantly hounded by one of their so-called "advisors" to move my money to their company. Although Frank said he wasn't paid a commission, his constant pestering with phone calls and emails left a different impression. Ultimately, I decided to move my money out of this company. I strongly recommend staying away from this place. ...read more

Murphy Investments Property Management

I had a really positive experience with Murphy's Investments. They were very nice and responsive from the beginning of my interactions with them. Every time I needed something fixed in my apartment, it was taken care of within a day or two. The three employees I dealt with specifically were Jaki and Bianca (in the office) and Nacho (the building handyman). All three of these folks were terrific. My apartment was lovely (I don't know about anyone elses) - dark, shiny floor, pretty detailing, good water pressure and heat. I felt like I was living at the Palace Hotel except that I never had to check out. I had a parking space under the building for a reasonable fee, which, in the Mission, was a fantastic convenience. Before I moved out, Murphy's pre-inspected my apartment and let me know of the repairs I needed to make in order to get my deposit back. They even sent me photos, which was helpful. I received my entire deposit back with no issues. I recommend renting from Murphy's and would rent again from them. A tip - after leaving a message with the office regarding a request, follow up with them later that day. They manage more than one building and are very busy. I have found that this is the best way to connect with them and get what you need. I have rented from other agencies in the city, including Gaetani (ugh, terrible experience!), and Muphy's has been the best yet. ...read more

please note that I have written 69, 5 star reviews, and now only 3 one stars, for the dpt, for yellow cab, and for this completely unprofessional business owner. I don't like putting negative thoughts or words out there, but in this situation, I am just trying to save people from falling into the same trap that we did. I really wish that i had taken my phone and asked him to say everything in to my voice recorder as the meeting went on. I have never heard anyone explain how nothing in a lease agreement really mattered like this guy did. He was squirmy and uncomfortable the entire time we read the documents and kept trying to get us not to read them. He gave awful reasoning for everything, it was like he hadn't gotten a deal done in three years and was about to get his house foreclosed on if we didn't sign the contract. He wanted us to give him our cashiers check, made out to his company for 7540 for him to cash, and give us no executed agreement or receipt until the date that we were supposed to move in two weeks from the date of the incident If you are asking someone to sign a contract for $36,000 they are allowed to ask questions. This man is extremely shifty, and I assume by the way that he freaked out when we began asking questions that the whole deal was fraudulent. He seemed very mentally unstable. When he could tell that we smelled something fishy, he stood-up, through his hands in the air and started yelling insulting names at us in an attempt to degrade us. He said that we were not allowed to have the apartment because he figured out that we were on to him. The BBB will be handling this one. Big Fat Warning to landlords, and tenants alike: Stay Away! ***After reading the review, my step-sister pointed out: "Wow, you know there have been scams were people try to rent out foreclosed properties that are sitting vacant but that they do not themselves own or manage, this certainly smells like some kind of scam." - makes sense ...read more

I highly recommend Murphy Investments...I rented a studio with Murphy Investments, after seven months i inquired into transfering to a one bedroom apt, which they accomodated even though i was still within my lease period. I lived in the one bedroom for nine months then got a job offer in the South Bay again they accomodated me...since I was still within my lease on the second place I held open houses and a new tenant was found. When the new people signed their lease Murphy Investments released me from my lease and returned my security deposit less a minimal admin fee. I felt i received good customer service and was accomodated in a fair manner.\t\n\t\n ...read more
