Laynie Tzena Design

5.0

By RichardSF

I was seeking a special jewelry option to give to my wife for our 15th Wedding anniversary. When I connected with Laynie I knew I was in good hands. She generously emailed me an array of options, followed up with a phone call and listed to the parameters I gave her. We kept on refining until she came up with the perfect solution - a beautiful and meaningful pendant that incorporated the traditional 15th anniversary elements (crystal and ruby) along with some unique touches I would never have thought to look for. All that done on time within my tight turnaround window leads me to give an enthusiastic A+ for service, knowledge and creativity. Thanks Laynie - you made me look good on our special day. ...read more

Laynie Tzena Design

I have brought Laynie many of my treasured bracelets, necklaces, and rings. She is forthright in her assessment of what can be done. Laynie’s goal is always to preserve the spirit of a piece of jewelry, either by restoring it “as was” or, when that’s not possible, by designing a new piece that retains the feel of the original. A favorite ring of mine, a multicolored gold band with intersecting triangular stones, one of which was missing, proved to be a challenge. For one thing, it turns out these days most triangular stones, unlike mine, have rounded corners. We also needed to find a color that would work with the others. The new stone needed to be just the right size, shape, and color to fit the “feel” of the sequence. Laynie found the perfect stone for the ring. Laynie’s enthusiasm for her work is ever present and she clearly knows her stuff! ...read more

Laynie Tzena (“the San Francisco Jewelry Doctor”) has done work for me over the past several years, and I highly recommend her. I have always liked to wear jewelry that has special meaning to me. Our family has the tradition to pass down jewelry through the generations, and my mother took jewelry classes at UC Berkeley Extension in the ’40s. I am lucky enough to have one of the rings she made. Also, my uncle is an artist and designed jewelry for a time in the ’50s, and I have some of his things. About the latest concept of pawn shop in San Francisco!

Be frank and tell us – when you hear the words "pawn shop," do you still imagine a seedy back alley, with questionable characters milling about? Those are the days of history! Pawn shops are gaining recognition as reputable places of business, for buying, selling, and for borrowing. The San Francisco pawn shops are known for selling and pawning a whole range of items, from designer bags, guitars to gold necklaces. Simply put; precious metals, gold in any form generally demand higher estimate prices. In fact your old, unused sterling silver flatware may also earn you some nice cash. Other items that you may pawn are quality watches, gemstones, estate jewelry, antiques, and other heirloom jewelry. However; you should also estimate the price and market value of a given item. This in short is the latest concept ofpawn shop in San Francisco! Perhaps you have got that garage full of junk, that you know somebody would be interested in, but the thought of having a garage sale fills you with dread. Take it to a pawn shop and if it's something they want, you'll walk out with money in your pocket. Of course; it is that simple and fun. If you are considering pawning an item instead of selling it, here's how theSan Francisco pawn loanworks. When you bring a particular piece to the pawn shop, the item is appraised, preferably by a professional appraiser. The appraiser then provides you with a particular price for your item, the interest rate on the loan as well as other terms and conditions of the loan. As a matter of fact; it works in reverse too and if you like finding the odd item, or a good bargain, consider shopping at theSan Francisco pawn shop. It is also important to mention here that such loans are typically based on the appraised "loan value" of your collateral and its current condition and the ability of the San Francisco pawn shop in selling the item. Of course the amount of the loan offered is based on the wholesale, resale/secondhand value of the item and certainly not on the new retail price. ...read more
