I work with a small book publisher that has thousands of unsold books languishing in a storage warehouse and piling up high monthly storage charges. When I finally faced reality and decided to dispose of the un-saleable stock of books, I braced for a one-time receiving charge from a scrap paper recycling company. To my pleasant surprise, I found Paper Rush in San Francisco, which charges nothing when you drop off books or other printed matter. They bale and ship the printed matter overseas for recycling. I simply drove my rented truck into their facility, paused a minute or so on their truck scale, and pulled into their yard when they gave me the all-clear. I'll put in another vote for the West Portal location. I've been to the one near lower Haight and it just isn't the same. At West Portal there are plenty of seats, plenty of food options, no one rushes you, and the food is always great.A gr... ...read more
