I received a phone call from this people about my website, the sales person wouldn't stop talking saying how good their company was. I finally signed up, he told me they wouldn't charge me until the website was up and that I could cancel at any time with no problems and they would not charge me at all. I trusted the guy and I signed the contract that he emailed. Someone else called to set up the website and I didn't like the way they were doing it, I also did not like their customer services, I would call and no one would ever pick up the phone, they would only have a recording saying to leave your name and your phone number, I told the person that setting up the website that I was dissatisfied with their service and I was thinking about cancelling, he said to give him a few days to fix up the website. I also asked him why I had been charged for the initial fee plus the first month of the website fee since they hand't even finished setting up the website yet and the sales person had told that they wouldn't charge me until the website had been finished, he said that was the way they did it. I thought about it for couple of days and I decided to cancel because I still did not like their website settings and because they had charged me ahead of time when they had told me they wouldn't. That was two weeks ago, today, I see a charge in my bank account from them, I called them and the same person who was setting up the website answered the phone and said that, that was the agreement, he said I hadn't given them 30 days to cancel, there was no way I could have given them 30 days to cancel, the first charge was charged on 10/20/14, when I signed up for the website and I cancelled on 11/7/14, that means I would've had to called them on 10/07/14, which was impossible because I hadn't even signed up for the website, so this people kept the initial fee they charged to set up the website, the first month fee of maintaining the website, which it wasn't even up, and the second month of maintaining the website, because they said I did not give them a 30 days notice. They took $297.40 out of my checking account in 30 days without even finishing the website set-up, I cancelled before they were done and they will not return any of the money. I'm glad I cancelled because this is how I found out that they are ripping people off. Beware, I would never do business with them, their don't even have a customer services person to help you out with your problem, the same person kept answering the phone and would not send me anywhere else. ...read more

They promised their reviews would boost my ranking on search engines. The video they produced and posted on youtube was embarassing. Problem is, once your review is posted on youtube, you can't just take it down.Frankly, I am torked that I spent so much money trying to help my business and wound up getting a video that I don't want customers associating me with. I don't recommend this company. The whole strategy of paid reviews is frowned upon by Google (which I didn't know when I placed the order) and the product delivered is amateuristic. ...read more

How to Tell if Your Website Needs a Re-design

If you’re like me, you probably get lots of e-mails or calls proposing to give you a website or a website re-design. If you’re like most business owners who might not be technologically savvy when it comes to these matters. Your first instinct is to think “Great another web designer trying to take my money” or “I already have a website and I don’t need their services”. The thing is you might very well be right but you could also be wrong. So, below is a checklist of things to look out for to know if you indeed do need a re-design or even a website if you haven’t got one already. Mobile Responsiveness Mobile responsiveness is really the ability for your website to be accessible on various devices. The importance of this is that in today’s fast paced world is that both you and your clients are doing business on the go; therefore, information should be easily accessible to both parties and shouldn’t be restricted by your device. Overall, this improves the efficiency of doing business, which is a win-win for you and your clients. If you look at the attached screenshot examples below from www.suzannecollinsbooks.com and CFR and Associates from your mobile device, you will see that both sites aren’t mobile accessible. In other words, besides the other features listed below you literally, have to pinch and expand your screen to view and read the information on those sites. www.cstreethairsalon.com designed by Uzo Design is a site that is mobile optimized. Which is more accessible from your hand-held device? Finish the article here http://www.uzodesign.com/blog/how-to-tell-if-your-website-needs-a-re-design ...read more

What's in a logo?

When most clients meet with a graphic designer they often say things along the lines of "I want an amazing logo". It is an admirable quality that one wants the best for their organization. However, when you consider that there are others out there repeating that same exact line. It makes you wonder what amazing really is, since what is considered amazing tends to be subjective. It is safe to say that if it is well done (craftsmanship), memorable (the emotions said art work inspires), and if it is relevant then it can begin to be described as amazing. When it comes to logo design there are a few criteria that an art work must meet in order to be successful. If it is successful from the designer's point of view it probably amazing. Well, it all goes back to that thing about beautiful art work being subjective. What makes a logo amazing (even if it's unsuccessful) is the quality it comes to represent. Normally that quality is built over time. So, this is why it is most important that the brand, service and products that a logo represent is outstanding. This is the part most clients should be concerned with. So, what makes for an amazing logo from a practical design stand point?
