We had booked a vacation stay at rental home in La Jolla, California, offered through Bluewater Vacation Homes for a week in October, 2013. Upon our arrival, we discovered the following issues:\r\n* Master bath toilet was running continuously and leaking\r\n* Bedroom window latch was broken and lying on the window sill so window could not be locked\r\n* Lower balcony vertical blinds had a missing slat and were so twisted as to be inoperable\r\n* TV remote was not working properly\r\n* Refrigerator was imbalanced causing it to rock and would roll forward whenever opened\r\n* Two bathroom light bulbs were burned out\r\n* Light switches, doorknobs and handrails were dirty and sticky to touch\r\nWe immediately called Bluewater's management office from the condo telephone. After waiting over an hour and receiving no reply from Bluewater, we decided to check out immediately because we could not secure the property for our safety. We notified Bluewater's office before leaving that we were checking out. At no point during that second call did Bluewater offer any solution to the problems.\r\nAfter a three-hour drive home, we discovered five messages on our home answering machine attempting to address the condo's problems. Bluewater management has never been able to explain why they did not call us back at the condo or on our cell phone the day we checked in. Our cell phone number was specifically requested and provided well before our check-in date.\r\nBluewater Vacation Homes promises a well-maintained vacation rental that is "thoroughly clean and sanitized". They also emphasize communication and promise "We're here to answer any questions and make sure you have everything you need before, during and after your stay". Bluewater Vacation Homes failed to keep their promises and refused our request for a full refund. ...read more

My friends and I arrived after closing to our rental condo in Mission Beach. They had set us up with a lock box to get into our rental with detailed directions to find our place. The next morning when we went to the office to check in were were given a pass to use the gym down the road and told we could get bikes and boogy boards at no cost through their office. The condo was right on theboardwalk and we loved riding bikes on the boardwalk. We all agree that San Diego Sunset Vacation Rentals deserves a 5 star rating!!! ...read more
