Our high school Varsity baseball team recently played against Francis Parker. Based upon the experience that the FP head coach put a 16 year old through on our team, I would question the ethical background of those that are involved in the school and would suggest any parent think twice before sending their child to Francis Parker. Our school tragically lost a young man to a horrible car accident last year. In his honor, the students created "Livestrong" type of rubber wrist band. In the game mentioned above, the FP head coach pointed out that one of our young men had on "jewelery" (the bracelet) which is prohibited in accordance with CIF rules, and proceeded to bully and argue incessantly with the umpires and our coaches while suceeding to have our player ejected from the game. The penalty was not only this ejection but the suspension for the next game, and the requirement to attend an Ethics in Sports program. It was explained that this "blanket rule" treats this minor infraction in the same way as one much more grave (ie. a player hitting an umpire). We realize that rules must be abided by, but this coach, supposedly a "builder of young men" tore down an innocent young man in a terrible, and unjust way that day. Francis Parker should be ashamed of this coach and parents should be wise to the lessons that this person of authority is teaching their children. Beware of Francis Parker school! ...read more
