Dr. Robert Howard,

I don't have insurance and really needed an eye doctor with great prices who still gave solid, professional service. Dr. Robert Howard at Eye Care Plus is the one. I was able to get probably the best eye exam i have ever had and a pair of well made eye glasses for a very fair price. The glasses are on point and I get compliments on them all the time. My wife went to see Dr. Howard too and she got an exam plus her contact lenses. The office is very nice and convenient hours including Saturday which helps a lot. I will for sure keep going to Dr. Howard. ...read more

Dr. Robert Howard,

I had a great experience with this office and Dr. Howard. Needed glasses and an eye exam in a hurry before a trip. The staff was friendly and knowledgable and they helped me pick out a great frame. The doctor did my exam and then had the tech make my glasses up for me right after the exam. I haven't seen this well in at least 5 years. I would recommend Dr. Howard and Eye Care Plus to anyone who needs a thorough eye exam and glasses with fast service. ...read more

Why do I need to remove my contact lenses prior to having Lasik?

Sometimes contact lenses if worn for a long duration of time prior to lasik can distort the shape of the cornea thereby inducing irregularities that are not necessarily inherent to the patients corneal shape.  Prior to any type of Laser refractive surgery including Lasik, it is important to allow the cornea to get back to its natural shape. That's the reason why your Doctors will ask you to remove your contact lenses prior to having had LASIK or PRK.  If you have any further questions about how long to remove your contact lenses prior to LASIK, you may contact Dr Yaghouti at Global laser Vision in San Diego for further information on your eligibility.  ...read more

Help! I can't see the texts on my cell phone!

Dr. Robert Howard's Eye Care Plus"I Can't See My Cell Phone!!' If you have a cell phone, you have probably sent text messages to friends and family at one time or another. But if you're over 45, you may have had trouble seeing that small print on your cell phone. This is a common problem we are seeing more of at the office of Dr. Robert Howard. You may not have noticed it before because we can always hold a newspaper a little farther away, or scoot back from a menu, but when you need to hold your phone and touch the buttons to text, suddenly, your eyes seem to be failing you! Don't worry, you're not alone. We see patients suffering from the same "Text Message Presbyopia" every week. There ARE answers for you. New contact lenses which have a bifocal built in are one option. Come by our office and we'll let you try some on and type away at your phone! Also, tiny, stylish reading glasses which can be slipped on just for those important texting times are an easy, inexpensive fix! Give our office a call and we can explore these and other options to make your cell phone friendlier, and make you happier! After all, if you can't see what you're texting, who knows what you may be sending!! Dr. Robert Howard specializes in hard to fit contact lens patients.

When our patient Christine came in to our office for the first time, she had never been able to wear contact lenses.  She had tried, but found them to be uncomfortable, and the vision wasn't clear. After a thorough eye exam performed by Dr. Howard,  and a comprehensive fitting of contact lenses, this patient is now wearing contact lenses every day.   At Eye Care Plus, in San Diego, we take the time to determine each and every patient's vision needs.  Your eye health, comfort and vision is our top priority.   After you get your initial contact lenses, we evaluate them on your eyes, check the fit, check the vision and make changes if needed. At Dr. Robert Howard's Eye Care Plus, we aren't happy until our patients are happy. Superior vision care, affordable fees, and a team of assistants who care.
