Goldies Adult Superstore

I am used to the adult stores back home in Honolulu, but Goldies reminded me of two of them Backseat Betty's and Video Warehouse. The same large organized selection of adult DVD's. A great mix of Novelties and Lingerie to make my wife happy. Oh and Did I mention the same great customer service? When I am away from home I always like to take back a gift for the missus. LINK SWAPPING! Sounds Good, But More Likely Will Hurt You...
If you ever reach the #1 postion on Google for a popular search term phrase, be prepared to get all sorts of silly requests for "Link Swapping" Here's the number ONE question you should ask whether you are the recipient or the generator of a link swap request... Why would someone put another link to another website that is in direct competition on their website. It's like having a "Exit Door" with a sign above it that says... "Leave Our Website Now and go Buy from our Competitor". Does this make sense? We all work so hard to develop traffic and leads to our website and then we give those hard earned visitors a exit door to not only leave but to go buy from a competitor. Talk about shooting yourself in your own foot... Don't do it! I have a friend who sells wedding photography packages. He used to link to a website that sold only wedding cakes... Sounds harmless, yes? Well he found out that the cake website had a "Links" page with not just his website but other websites that were also Wedding Photographers. He literally lost one sale to a competitor because he was trying to "Do-The-Right-Thing". He now no longer provides external links to anyone and feels much better knowing that his visitors when they arrive to his site, he has the best shot at closing them for a sale. And doesn't have to worry that they will get distracted by a link going to another website. come on guys... FOCUS... Know what you're doing... Search Engine Rankings, What Really Counts!
Well we've all heard about SEO, optimization, rankings, pr ratings, back-links, keyword density.. blah blah blah... Here's the truth in it all no matter what anyone says as far as I'm concerned. If you did everything to your website that you are supposed to do according to all of the articles you have read on the Internet. Having a proper domain name, Title tags, meta tag descriptions, keyword density, code to text ratio, lots of content and pages and on and on, .... then why is your site still not on the #1 page of Google? Because quite frankly at the end of the day when everything is said and done... It's all about BACK-LINKS to your site period. I'll explain why. Lets say that in your industry or business you have 100,000 competitors. They have all done exactly the same thing you did to optimize their websites as well... So that means that you are still on the same level as them. So how does Google determine who gets a higher ranking than another? VERY GOOD QUESTION! If all things are equal... If all things ARE EQUAL... then there is only one thing left for them to score you on and thats external links going to your site... Thats it.. Now you can hear all about well I need links from external websites that are appropriate to my type of business, I need backlinks from high pr ranking websites, I need, I need... Boy I get a headache when I hear or read all that... It becomes a backlink competition... Thats all nothing more and nothing less.. he who has the highest number of back-links wins... So if you have 15 backlinks to your site and your competitor has 1000 you will never rank above him... Now there are caveats to all this... It has to be done responsibly.
