We put a loved one here, were lied, and witnessed what I wish we wouldnt have. They do nothing to entertain the residence.. the residents sleep, eat, and sit around. Puzzles and TV are available but that is about all. Someone was ill, left untreated for a while, and ended up passing away, granted I did not know the complete circumstances, I found this appalling.. These people are able to go outside, but then get locked out from coming back in until someone inside sees them. This is aweful. These poor people just lay around and do nothing. I do however have to say, I think the caregivers there do care, and try to make do with what they can. They always treated me and my family with respect and kindness. ...read more

MY FATHER IN LAW RESIDES AT PICO DE LORO, WE VISITED HIM THE OTHER DAY OCT 17/09 HE TOOK US OUTSIDE WHERE THERE WAS A TABLE AND CHAIRS TO VISIT, ABOUT ONE HOUR LATER WE TRIED TO OPEN THE DOOR WE HAD EXITED AND FOUND IT LOCKED, SEVERAL OTHER OCCUPANTS THAT HAD BEEN WALKING FOR EXERCISE HAD ALSO TRIED TO ENTER. WE TRIED ONE SIDE DOOR NO LUCK, FINALLY MY WIFE WENT WAY TO THE OTHER SIDE AND ENTERED, THEN OPENED FOR US. NOT A GOOD POLICY AS A MAN THAT HAD BEEN WALKING WAS OUT OF BREATH AND VERY THIRSTY.
