The owner refuses to post prices because she stated that she ""can charge whatever she wants because this is Palos Verdes."" She charged 20 for a simple child's haircut and then became rude when questioned why the price was so high. Do yourself a favor and drive down Chrenshaw and pay less. The owner is a terrible representative of the franchise. ...read more

I started going to this salon a year ago, but am moving on. Yeah, it's a pretty salon and the people are friendly enough, but during the course of my experience, I've been rescheduled at the last minute 3 times! Not cool when you've got big social events you're preparing for. Also, twice I was double-booked, turning an hour-and-a-half job into 4 hours. I insisted I no longer be double booked, which they honored. But this pattern of behavior tells me that this salon doesn't respect my time. That's not likely to change. As for the quality of the work, my color was inconsistent (Sometimes highlights were almost non-existent. Sometimes they were perfect. Sometimes my hair color came out the multi-dimensional chestnut brown that I liked/wanted; sometimes it'd come out almost black monochrome. When I discussed it with my stylist, she acted like I was just being timid about coloring my hair. Not so. When I balk at bright copper stripes in my hair, it does not mean I want nonexistent highlights! It means (as I expressed verbally on more than one occasion) that I want, subtle, natural golden pieces shot through the brown. Hello! It ain't brain surgery. Also, watch the lighting in this salon; it's low. Even though there are a lot of windows, the building has an overhang, so the rooms don't benefit from the natural light. The lighting is low so you don't really see what you've got until you go outside or into a properly lit room. Anyhow, since the work was consistently inconsistent, and I can't count on the salon's professionalism in keeping appointments, I'm moving on. Prices were about on par (maybe slightly cheaper. Perhaps at attempt to make up for the remote locale) with good salons everywhere ($160 for cut, tint roots and weave in color glaze for subtle highlights) I don't mind paying whatever the cost, but I expect a consistently satisfactory job, a professional work ethic and a dependable salon: things I didn't get at Felix Design Studio. ...read more

I always go to CF. Its cheaper than going to some fake trendy place where they just rush you out. They take the time to talk over what I want. I have dark hair which can be tricky to lighten, but the took the time to get it right ...read more
