Sooo, I had this blow-out, spare no expense Christmas party, and Restoration is just one of the companies who failed me.\t\n\t\nLet me begin by saying that I told the saleslady that I needed the drapery set that Saturday, and to have the whole thing get to me on time, I was charged an extra Express Shipping fee. I had no problem with that, I needed the items quickly.\t\n\t\nWhat I had a problem with, is that not the complete set arrived, and what did arrive were the wrong items. I should have known that the saleslady just wanted the commission. Yeah, one set to cover 1 window cost me close to $700, not including the actual drapes!\t\n\t\nI had to come back over and over again to the place to undo the damage, a total of 3 times. Coming from San Francisco, that was HELL at best! Why not go to San Mateo, you say? Well, this place supposedly had the items in stock when I called them on the phone. I was wrong. Simply had to comment about a super experience with Gingko. For months I've been looking at their web site, coveting a tansu-inspired media table, but didn't have the time to go into SF from Marin to buy it. But two nights ago when I saw that it was on sale, I decided that was a sign, and if I wanted it before I moved to Sonoma at the end of the month, now was the time to order it. So, yesterday morning at 10:30 I called them to buy it, and within 3 hours they'd delivered this simply stunning piece of furniture! I can't praise them highly enough! This has been the worst experience I have ever had with an on line retailer. My wife and I ordered a futon complete set on line from the futon shop and stipulated that we needed weekend or evening delivery. We were called (after being charged for and paying for the product) by the transport company and told that the product could only be delivered on a weekday from 1-5. We tried to reach The Futon Shop and got no response. We changed our plans for Columbus day to get the product delivered, waited all day and the product came shattered. We called and told them that we were refusing delivery as they had not shipped us a usable product and we asked for a full refund of our money. The company was very rude to me when I did not respond happily to them. They would not refund my money and I was told to take it up with American Express. We have no product and no refund.
