We have been jumping from store to store all within the same plaza while we wait for the demo to be finished on our permanent residence. In the meantime here’s a little story… Waste, But Not Wasted Regardless of what you have heard size does matter…at least when it pertains to flooring. It matters in many different ways, but today I'll tell you about it's importance when it comes to roll goods, specifically carpet and vinyl. When it comes to roll flooring the width (and possibly the length) of the flooring is just as important as the actual size of the room. Allow me to explain. Let’s say your vanity area is 9x9 a.k.a. 81 square feet, and you are interested in vinyl flooring. The vinyl you’ve selected comes in rolls that are 12 ft wide so we’ll get it 9 ft long. You see where this is going right? Although your vanity is only 81 square feet, you need 108 square feet of material, which is a full 25% of waste. As far as roll goods are concerned sometimes there are no good solutions. We pride ourselves on trying to find you the best flooring at the best price that best meet your needs. We will ask you questions that help us make the most educated suggestions. And as far as the waste, anything that’s left after the job is completed is yours to have, and vinyl makes a great shelf liner.
