Contracts

Did you know that when a contractor bidding on repairs to your home ,asks for half down he is violating the law? Air filters

Did you know a dirty air filter can destroy your a/c's compressor? This causes the indoor cooling coil to freeze up, causing the compressor to overheat. Low airflow is the number one killer of air conditioners. When you buy air filters make sure you purchase a quality filter. Cheap is not better. You will see washable filters out there but be aware of the following: All filters cause a pressure drop in the air coming out of the vents. We measure this in Water Column, I.E. "w.c. Most system are designed for an air filter with a .08"wc. When buying a filter do not buy one with a water column greater than .10"wc. It will restrict the air too much and cause the coil to freeze up. Read the package. A higher "wc reading is very bad and detrimental to the airconditioner's compressor. An excellent washable air filter is the Allergy Gold filter which costs under $100 and has a lifetime warranty. Think how much throw away filters cost over the long haul and how much better this doctor's office grade filter will clean the air in your home or office. It really is a no brainer. REMEMBER: keep your filter clean! ...read more
