Not recommended at all- Attorney Martin Bender would NOT be a good choice for a family law matter. After spending a lot of money already, I am back at the beginning with another attorney. I feel obligated that my experience was so outrageous, I have to warn anyone else who is in my situation to do your homework first. There is much more information I am aware of now from the Calif. State Bar Associations website and there are tips for the public. You want a law firm with a quality staff and more than one or two attorneys. You will know when you have visited the office of the right attorney during a consultation, and do your homework first. Do not be impatient. Our experience with Margie was a nightmare. She was consistently late to court, unfamiliar with our case, and disorganized. Forms were not filed timely, sometimes forms were missing and not filed at all. She would not reply to calls or emails and would consistently make claims to have not receieved them. Her office was also disorganized and her paralegal wanted us to fill out the legal forms. When information was provided to her, she was resistant to make changes to misinformation in the documents. We have never provided a review, positive or negative, but our experience was so bad, I would want anyone to avoid being given poor representation on an issue that matters to them. ...read more
