We found Ina Ray hosting an "open house" on Orense Street in Mission Viejo and later discovered it was actually her own residence. She told at the time the property was a private/pocket listing for a "friend" of hers, which was a lie. Unbeknown to us at the time, we allege she was practicing a deceptive way to meet prospects coming off the street in hopes of developing a relationship so she could solicit her service as real estate agent. FYI a real estate agent is required to tell prospects if they have an interest in the home they are selling up front and we fell for her nonsense. Ms. Ray asked what we were looking and offered to do some searching for us on the MLS, so we agreed and gave her our info. After we got to know her a little and thought we could trust her, we gave her the listing to sell our home. After a very short while she became unreasonably domineering and unprofessional toward us to say the least so we wanted her to cancel our listing contract but she wouldn't. She discussed this with her broker and together they came back with an offer to cancel our contract for a $7,500.00 fee which was crazy. Because we wouldn't pay it, she held our home hostage out of pure spite and we couldn't sell it while they held our listing. I would advise anyone reading this that I wouldn't sign anything with her because if things go bad for you like they did for us, she won't release her contract with you and part ways graciously. It also appeared obvious her managing broker had taken a “hands-off” attitude and allow Ms. Ray to run the show any way she feels without supervision and without accountability to anyone.
