Chinos Mexican Bistro

I've gone in to eat a few times as well as ordered delivery from them about 5-6 times and have never, ever felt sick after. I mean, maybe if I ate too much of the delicious food (totally my doing) but never from anything on their end. They have the BEST chicken nachos that can easily feed 2-3 1/2 people (I say 1/2 because I have a 3-year-old). Me, my cousin, my mom and my 3-year-old found that two orders of nachos were more than enough to feed us (we had leftovers the next day). If your child isn't a fan of nachos, they have a $6 menu "para ninos" (for kids) that is served with rice and beans with the exception of the hamburger that is served with rice and french fries. The best part of the restaurant, though, is that everything tastes exquisite, like it was (and it was) home made with care. NOTHING tastes packaged or gross. It's that home baked, satisfied-tummy goodness taste that you can tell the difference in, if that makes any sense. Love it! They get my recommendation and 5+ stars. ...read more

The restaurant is in a wonderful location, but once I went inside to order my food. People were very unfriendly and wanted to rush me out. They even suggested that I take the food to go and when I ate the soup I got sick with what seems to be food poisoning. I ...read more

The best Mexican in the Los Osos baywood area, and definitely one of the nest in SLO country. Nice people, good service and I really like that they have Dos XX on Tap! Awesome Nachos, low on grease factor and really great chips! Did I mention that I LOVE that they deliver? I little less known secret really... ...read more

The butternut squash ravioli is absolutely to die for BUT...there wasn't quite enough--I'm a normal eater and I could have used about 4-6 more raviolis. Left feeling a little hungry and didn't appreciate that. Salad was extra--One time we got a tiny amount of bread, another time we were told if we wanted more bread we would have to pay for it! This lack of generosity just felt so UN-Italian to me..so despite the yummy ravioli, I don't think I'll go back. ...read more

Just came back from breakfast on a Sunday morning and it was not good. The service was completely unattentive, never offered to refill coffee or water so we always had to flag someone down, and our food took 40 minutes (as I know because we were seated within view of the large clock above the door). My dad ordered his steak MR but it was well. Finally flagged down our server, who never came back to check after she dropped off the food, and she took to the kitchen for replacement. When it came back it was rare, and I mean rare, but we couldn't be bothered waiting again for a new steak, and of course she never came back to check on the new steak. Other than the steak, and the very dry muffins, the food wasn't bad but the service really spoiled the experience and me, my husband and my parents (who would have loved to have found a good local place for breakfast) won't be back. ...read more

Jimmy Bump's Pasta House

I ordered two kids meals - one spaghetti and one Ravioli on New Years Eve, and then my husband and I went out. It was suppose to be for childern 10 and under. There was one very small scoop of spaghetti. There was a total of 8 small ravioli. When I picked the bag up, it was so light! This might feed a five year old but no way a 10 year old. It came with one piece of decent size garlic bread. I was not given the sodas that were suppose to come with the meals. On top of that the online menu stated a price of $4.79 and $4.99, I was charge $12.69. Therefore, we got a tiny bit of food with no drink and was overcharged. One of my sons ended up eating some left over pizza we had in the refrigerator .\t\n\t\nJimmy Bump's Pasta Pronto \t\n3212 Broad Street, Suite 140\t\nSan Luis Obispo ...read more

Sculptured Egg

5.0

By Bruce

The husband and wife team (he cooks, she serves) have been making some of the finest egg creations on the Central Coast for 32 years. It's not a bargain price, but it's certainly good value. It's also more than just the food, which is terrific, but also the ambiance. The Sculptured Egg is a quaint and welcoming place to dine and talk -- not just chow down and move on. Some have complained about the slow service. Fine...let them eat at a fast food joint with its typical fare. This is far from typical and those in a hurry don't deserve this place. ...read more

Noi's Little Thai Takeout

Noi's is by far the best Thai food I've ever had. I find it hard to patron other Thai restaurants, because I usually end up comparing them to Noi's, and hence being disappointed. Probably one of the top 10 things I miss about living on the Central Coast. Try the Peanut Pad Thai. Also, drink selection is slim, so walk across the street to the liquor store for a great local micro-brew. ...read more

Lotus Thai Cuisine

Don't be fooled by its commonplace appearance, this is outstanding Thai! This husband wife team has kept the food authentic by not increasing overhead. Not a lot of places to sit, epecially at lunch, but this woman's peanut and garlic sauces are worth tasting upside-down in the corner. Her ability to add spicyness without changing the flavor is second to none. Coming from Seattle Thai food restaurants, this is the flavor I expect when I get Thai. Finding this place down the street from my work was a godsend, and lunch specials priced at $5 even better. Don't waste any more time looking, make the drive to Los Osos and enjoy this today. You can thank me later. ...read more

How Do Restaurants Make Enchiladas?

Many people think that an enchilada in a restaurant is much better than anything they can ever find at home, unless they know a lot of Hispanic people.
